Joint Organisations: Emerging Directions for Regional Collaboration
The Office of Local Government (OLG) is proposing a new legislative model for Joint Organisations in regional and rural NSW. On Friday September 11th LGNSW worked in collaboration with the OLG to offer this workshop which explored emerging directions for regional collaboration. The workshop included presentations from the OLG, pilot Joint Organisations and experienced regional Local Government practitioners, and are available for download on this webpage.
The OLG’s Joint Organisations – Emerging Directions paper seeks councils’ views on their proposed model for establishing Joint Organisations (JOs). LGNSW recommends that all councils in regional and rural areas are well informed about the content of this paper, and consider how any impacts or benefits of the new regime could be included into their submissions.
Councils are now encouraged to further consider the Emerging Directions Paper and formalise their comments into a submission to OLG. LGNSW will also be providing input on behalf of our members.
