Draft Risk Management and Internal Audit Guidelines  

OLG is seeking council feedback on the draft guidelines for risk management and internal audit for local councils in NSW prior to finalising them.

The draft Guidelines follow consultation on a Discussion Paper, A New Risk Management and Internal Audit Framework for Local Councils in NSW (released in late 2019), and includes many of the changes proposed in submissions in response to the discussion paper.

All councils must appoint an ARIC from 4 June 2022.

LGNSW will be making a submission and would appreciate input from JOs and individual councils. Please direct comments or copies of submissions by emailing Shaun McBride, Chief Economist,  or phone 0438 625 045.

Submissions are required by COB 16 November 2021.
