Cr Dominic King

Cr Dominic King was popularly elected as Mayor of Bellingen Shire Council in the September 2016 Local Government Elections.
Cr King is a passionate advocate for the environment and firmly believes local government is best placed to develop strategic plans and solutions to tackle the place-based challenges of a changing climate.
He is a strong supporter of local government’s ability (if correctly funded) to best deal with issues such as housing affordability, social justice and community inclusion.
Cr King served as a councillor from 2012-2016 and during this time gained valuable insight into the workings, challenges and issues facing residents and the council as an organisation. The role has enabled him to experience first-hand how local government functions and operates on a legislative and economic basis.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (Resource and Environmental Management) BSc REM and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Geography).
A keen sportsman, Cr King played 201 games for Parramatta Rugby Union Club and is now a football coach with a local soccer club.

He was elected to the Board of LGNSW in October 2019.
