
Proposed changes to planning rules for household solar panels and telecommunications infrastructure
Proposed changes to the Infrastructure State Environmental Planning Policy (Infrastructure SEPP) are now on public exhibition as outlined in the following two Explanations of Intended Effects (EIEs):
- Proposed Infrastructure SEPP amendments: Electricity generating works or solar energy systems EIE here.
- Proposed amendment to Division 21 - Telecommunications and other communication facilities EIE here.
The proposed changes would result in planning approvals not being required for certain solar and telecommunications infrastructure.
The NSW Department of Planning Industry and Environment (DPIE) is inviting submissions by 13 September 2021.
