IPART Review of Competitive Neutrality Policy

The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is evaluating the scope and effectiveness of competitive neutrality policies and processes in NSW.

Competitive neutrality policies aim to ensure that government businesses, including several council activities, that compete with the private and not-for-profit sectors do not have a competitive advantage over other businesses solely due to their government ownership.

IPART has released an issues paper and is seeking feedback from private and not-for-profit businesses, local councils and government agencies on their experiences with the NSW competitive neutrality framework.

Submissions on the issues paper will close on 15 August 2022.
