$300 million Accelerated Infrastructure Fund Round 3 now open

The NSW Government has launched a major $300 million program to fast-track delivery of essential infrastructure to enable thousands of new homes and jobs in metropolitan and regional NSW.

This is part of the NSW Government’s $2.8 billion 2022 housing package in the June State Budget.

Round 3 of the Accelerated Infrastructure Fund program is now open for 41 high-growth councils, state agencies and utility providers eligible to apply. The 18 metropolitan and 23 regional locations eligible for funding will account for 94% of the State’s total population growth over the next 10 years, according to the recently released 2022 NSW population projections.

The competitive grant program has been extended to regional locations for the first time, and the funding is split to allocate up to $180 million to metropolitan projects and up to $120 million for regional projects.

The funding is available for projects delivered by councils and eligible agencies that best accelerate the delivery of infrastructure that enables housing and generates jobs. Examples of infrastructure projects include roads, stormwater, electricity infrastructure, and public open space projects.

Eligible Councils, state agencies and utility providers have until 30 September 2022 to apply.
