Closing soon – Urban Rivers and Catchments Grants

Applications for Round two of the Australian Government’s Urban Rivers and Catchments Program close on Tuesday 13 February 2024 at 5.00pm (AEDT).

The Urban Rivers and Catchments Program is part of the government's Nature Positive agenda and will fund projects to conserve native and threatened species and improve the ecological health of urban waterways.

Round two is a competitive grant round, with a total of $109 million (from 2024-25 over 4 four years) available. There are two distinct grant opportunities:

  • Stream one - small to medium-scale project grants of between $150,000 to $2 million for community-led projects. A total of $51 million is available under this stream.
  • Stream two - larger scale project grants of between $2 million to $10 million for projects that include co-investment. A total of $58 million is available under this stream.

Projects must be located within the eligible geographic boundaries of the program and meet the eligibility criteria.
