Anzac Day Digital Kitbag and commemoration package

With Anzac Day approaching (25 April), the Australian Government Department of Veterans’ Affairs has created an Anzac Day digital kitbag and commemoration package.

The kitbag aims to support communities with hosting memorials, celebrations, events and ceremonies.

The Anzac Day digital kitbags are full of resources on how to plan appropriate memorial events, including suggestions on the order of service with flag protocols, music and anthems, ode to remember, suggestions for speeches and other specific elements that are unique to Anzac day celebrations.

The Anzac portal developed by the Department of Veterans Affairs includes a range of information and resources to help communities showcase their unique military and service history and offers information about  wars and missions, stories of service and other educational resources.

Anzac Day is one of the most significant days of commemoration for Australians. Councils in NSW are central to commemorating Anzac Day in their communities through organising dawn services, memorials, collaborating with local RSL branches and veterans’ groups and running a range of programs in their communities.
