Bluett Awards: Apply now to have your council’s excellence recognised
Applications are now open for the 2026 AR Bluett Memorial Award, which recognises the councils that have demonstrated the most excellence and progress over the past year.
This award is an ideal opportunity to reflect upon the great work of your council over the previous year and have your council recognised for that achievement.
The Award is presented in two categories:
- City and Regional Councils: this includes city, metropolitan and major regional rural councils.
- Rural Councils: this includes all other rural councils.
The two categories provide fairness and equity for all councils, while at the same time preserving the original intent of the AR Bluett Memorial Trust Deed to judge councils on relative progress.
Last year’s winners were Leeton Shire Council and Camden Council.
Gaining recognition through the Bluett Award process enables positive feedback within your organisation and community, which has an amazing impact upon confidence and culture.
The application process is streamlined to ensure all councils are able to apply. Further information, including on how to apply, is available online.
Entries close on 31 July 2026.
