Waverley Council - Get Rid of it Right campaign
The Get Rid of it Right project targeted actions for real estate agents, strata, property managers and various community sectors. Improving knowledge on disposing unwanted items correctly and promoting existing council waste services, strengthening and leveraging enforcement patrols and street beautification activities reduced illegal dumping by 48%.

Bega Valley Shire Council - FOGO is here in the Bega Valley
When Bega Valley Shire Council introduced its FOGO (Food Organics Garden Organics) bin collection service, Council engaged the region’s savvy young recyclers to clearly and simply articulate the key message of ‘choose the right bin’. These young people have become the official Bega Valley Waste Warriors and are educating their parents and the broader community about why it is essential to divert waste from landfill.

Wingecarribee Shire Council - Engaging with Wingecarribee community to reduce and avoid waste
Wingecarribee’s waste education program engages with the local community and schools through workshops and activities. Workshops teach participants how to avoid a range of plastic containers and products that can be difficult to recycle and to compost their food and garden waste at home. The schools Waste Audit program engages students to develop alternatives to avoid, recycle or re-use what is generated as much as possible.

Wollongong City Council - Operation Nappy
Operation Nappy aims to reduce the number of disposable nappies entering landfill by changing the behaviour of new and expectant parents. Participants learn about the environmental, financial and health benefits of cloth nappies and are given a free cloth nappy. Based on the post survey data it is estimated that 5,475 disposable nappies per baby will be diverted from landfill by those using cloth nappies full time, and 3,650 for part-time usage.
