Lockhart Shire Council- Using recycled glass in road base project
Lockhart Shire Council blends recycled glass with Council's own quarry materials for road construction projects. Using recycled glass is extending the life of the quarries by 5-7 years as well as using the stockpile of crushed glass at the local Material Recycling Facility. Council also uses the recycled glass in footpath and stormwater construction reducing the need to purchase sand materials.

AlburyCity Council - Delivering real diversion
AlburyCity Council has been working consistently to enhance the landfill facility through significant investment in infrastructure and education. This has seen significant reductions in tonnage to landfill (22% less based on 2009 figures) extending the life of the landfill by 17 years through increased recycling, development of local circular economy opportunities within Albury, and recycling management.
