Goldenfields Water County Council: Goldenfields Water App
In July 2019, Goldenfields Water released a free mobile app that allows customers to access their real time usage data. Customers have a range of tools available including tracking usage and costs, setting consumption alerts and leak detection. In addition, users are able to submit service requests to notify Goldenfields Water of any issues such as leaks and can receive location-targeted notifications from Goldenfields Water such as information regarding water outages.

Forbes Shire Council: Solar lights along the Lake Forbes walkway
Forbes Shire Council has installed 5km of solar lighting along the 10km of walking track surrounding Lake Forbes. This is believed to be the longest installation of solar lighting in the world. The work was undertaken by farmers and farm labourers affected by the 2018/19 drought in a special employment program created by the council to help support the local farming community during the drought. The project also addresses safety concerns and has improved patronage.
