Wollongong City Council: Sustainable Wollongong 2030
Sustainable Wollongong 2030 outlines the council's commitment to sustainability for council operations and the community. It is an overarching document that brings together and plays an important role in providing direction and support for the council's many and varied environmental strategies, programs and plans. Extensive community and staff engagement activities were undertaken to create the strategy and to start the process of embedding sustainability and climate change considerations in all council decision making. Engagement with the Aboriginal community also enabled the council to incorporate invaluable stories and artwork into the strategy.

Northern Beaches Council: Towards net zero Northern Beaches
Northern Beaches Council has adopted ambitious targets in its Environment and Climate Change Strategy and Local Strategic Planning Statement to help it achieve net zero emissions. In the short time since adoption, the council has already developed a Climate Change Action Plan and a Roadmap to Net Zero. It has also switched to 100% renewable electricity, which has resulted in about 80% reduction in emissions as well as budget savings, added more rooftop solar, introduced a new domestic waste service achieving 64% diversion, improved water efficiency and is working with local businesses to reduce single-use plastics.
