Sustaining the Regions Forum

  • Date:

    1 October - 2 October 2019

  • Location:

Marconi Room, Town Hall House, Sydney CBD

The Sustaining the Regions Forum aims to bring together Joint Organisations (JOs), Regional Organisations of Councils (ROCs) and regional/rural councils to identify common goals and build a platform for future collaboration.

The Day 1 Program will facilitate understanding of priorities, strategies and challenges and will feature workshops to design collaborative initiatives and structures to deliver regional solutions. Areas such as water management and utilities, roads and transport, waste, environment and renewable energy, workforce and skills and joint procurement will be explored.

The ideal outcome of this forum will be to implement agreed pilot projects that encourage future collaboration.

The Day 2 Program shifts focus to the current and future challenges of the drought.
