Chief Executive - Tara McCarthy

LGNSW Chief Executive Tara McCarthyTara McCarthy (MBA, GAICD, FIML) started as Chief Executive of LGNSW in February 2019 after serving the public good in executive roles across the public and the not-for-profit sectors.

Tara has held many senior roles including Executive Director for the Point to Point Transport Commission, Deputy Commissioner for the NSW State Emergency Service, General Manager for the Fair Work Ombudsman, General Manager for St John Ambulance and Director for Safework NSW. 

Tara’s numerous tertiary qualifications include an MBA and Graduate Certificate in Management. 

She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders. Tara is also the Chair of the Board of Rosebank College, an independent co-educational Catholic school at Five Dock in Sydney’s inner west.
