Save Our Recycling

NSW’s local government sector has launched a campaign to solve a worsening recycling and waste crisis – at no extra cost to taxpayers.

The Save Our Recycling Campaign, launched at the local government annual conference in Albury in October 2018, calls on the State Government to re-invest the entire $727 million it collects from the waste levy each year in waste management and recycling.

It is critical that NSW develops its on-shore processing capacity for recycled materials, rather than shipping waste to countries such as China.

Save Our Recycling Election Summit - 6 March 2019

The Save Our Recycling Election Summit is being at the Sydney Mint on Wednesday 6 March from 9.30am to 11.30am.

Attendees include representatives from government, industry experts, academics, councils and the media. There’ll also be a panel discussion with an opportunity to pre-submit questions for the panel. We’re inviting elected officials, council executives, waste staff and other industry players to attend to demonstrate your commitment to recycling and the development of an innovative, homegrown recycling industry in NSW.

Here's a glimpse of what happened at the summit.
